Walk Through The Sycamores

In the Spring of 2002, the Office of Permanent Art Collection at ISU brought to Terre Haute and the University community, thousands of residents and visitors alike, the opportunity to stroll leisurely  through the Indiana State University campus.

Public spaces throughout the campus were decorated with one-of-a-kind art leaves that turned into a public sculpture garden. The project was about the celebration of art within the community.

Illinois artist John Siblik hand carved and crafted the original leaf out of several layers of wood. Mr. Siblik currently teaches at Upper Iowa State University in Fayette, IA.

Jeff Garrett, an artist and teacher from Flint, Michigan molded the "baby" leaf out of clay. The entire staff at the Permanent Art Collection contributed in the preparation of leaves for the public.
