How do I convert a class to Honors?
To convert a class to Honors, you need to discuss the Honors component of the course with the professor, write a brief statement about it, and complete an Honors conversion form. For more information and/or to download a copy of the form, click here.
Which courses can be converted to Honors?
Most 300 and 400 level classes can be converted to Honors if the professor is able to work with you on developing an Honors component. For more conversion information, click here.
What scholarships are available for current Honors students?
There are three scholarships available through the University Honors Program: the Richard Brett Memorial Scholarship for Study Abroad; the Rebecca A. Johnson Honors Program Award; and the Anne Bauer Jackson, M.D. Memorial Honors Book Scholarship.
In addition, because of their academic ability, Honors students are often eligible for prestigious national and international scholarships, such the Rhodes, Marshall and Goldwater scholarships. The Honors Program office will notify you when these scholarship deadlines are approaching and assist you in preparing your application.
For additional information about funding for ISU students, please visit the Financial Aid website.
How do I join the University Honors Student Association (UHSA)?
UHSA is a great way to get involved and have a voice as an Honors student. For more information about joining UHSA, attend one one of their monthly meetings or contact 2008-2009 UHSA President Krystal Griffith at kgriffith1@mymail.indstate.edu.
