PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Honors Peers Advisors are enthusiastic and experienced Honors students who mentor incoming and current Honors students during the fall semester, actively recruit prospective Honors students and promote participation in the University Honors Program, and organize orientation activities for new Honors students. Specific expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

Meet with prospective Honors students and their families; discuss the requirements, opportunities, and benefits of Honors
Mentor an assigned group of first year Honors students
Maintain frequent communication with mentees during the Fall semester about upcoming Honors events, important dates, procedures, etc.
Attend Honors events and council meetings

The University Honors Program accepts applications for Honors Peer Advisors each year during the spring semester. Applicants are asked to submit a written application and are then interviewed. PRINT AN APPLICATION HERE. Applications for the 2012-2013 academic year are due by Friday, February 24, 2012.
