FUTURE/CAREER GOALS:

I can’t wait to be a teacher!

FAVORITE PLACES IN TERRE HAUTE:

My favorite place in Terre Haute is probably the fountain at ISU. I love when I have an hour break during the day and can go to the fountain to relax, catch up on some studying, or hang out with friends.

OTHER LEADERSHIP ROLES AND/OR CAMPUS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

I am the Vice President for Public Relations for the Panhellenic sororities, Event Chair for Relay for Life, and mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR BALANCING HONORS WITH OTHER CAMPUS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTS?

Time Management! Set aside specific times to study so that you don’t fall behind. It can be very difficult to catch up if you do!

HOBBIES/INTERESTS

I love traveling! Whether it’s a weekend road trip to Indianapolis or going to Ireland for spring break, I like to explore! I’m also a big sports fan and love to cheer on my teams: Go Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs!!

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE HONORS CLASS SO FAR, AND WHY?

I took a political communications class in the Fall of 2008 that studied the Obama-McCain election. It was really interesting because the class was completely relevant to real life and current issues; it definitely helped me be an informed voter for the election.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING AN HONORS STUDENT?

The Honors program has given me a lot of great learning experiences, leadership opportunities, as well as friends! I also love the fact that I’ve gotten priority registration every semester.

WHERE DO YOU THINK ARE THE BEST PLACES TO STUDY?

I get the best studying done in the library but I also like to mix it up and head over to Coffee Grounds on Wabash. Now that the new Barnes and Noble is opened up that would be a great place to study as well!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR?

I’m excited about starting my last chapter at ISU as a senior and transitioning into the real world! I’m also VERY excited to meet and work with all of my Honors Advisees!!!

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR FRESHMEN HONORS STUDENTS?

Get involved! There are so many excellent opportunities here at Indiana State you’d be crazy not to take advantage of some of them. Whether you go Greek, get involved with residential life, or join the Honors council (or hey, all three!) get involved in SOMETHING! It’s a great way to meet people and those experiences will really define your college experience.
