WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING AN HONORS STUDENT?

I enjoy all the opportunities that I get through the Honors Program and all the interesting people that I have met! It is nice to know that your professors and other students know your name and you are not just another student in a class.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS

Playing music and reading a good book

OTHER LEADERSHIP ROLES AND/OR CAMPUS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR BALANCING HONORS WITH OTHER CAMPUS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTS?

Find activities that you enjoy and will not seem like a hassle. Don’t overload your schedule with activities but be involved and still feel like you can have fun and are not overload with things that you have to do.

FAVORITE PLACES IN TERRE HAUTE:

I love sitting by the fountain when it is warm outside. Also, Deming Park is always so pretty and relaxing.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE HONORS CLASS SO FAR, AND WHY?

My favorite honors class was my first semester on campus and was called When Culture Changed Everything. I enjoy the setup of the classroom in a circle and how when we discussed the information everyone had something to add and no two people had the same opinion about everything.

FAVORITE PLACES TO STUDY/ STUDY TIPS FOR FRESHMEN HONORS STUDENTS?

When I have a lot of work to do I enjoy going to the library to study. It is quiet and I love finding a huge table to sit out so I can spread all of my stuff out!  I think the best thing to do as a freshman is to find that place you can study at and get your work done. Whether that is in your room, in the honors lounge, or at the library and find the conditions that help you concentrate the best.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR?

First off being an Honors Peer Advisor and getting to live in the newly renovated Pickerl!!!! Also getting to meet new people and have new experiences because I have enjoyed this year so much and it has flown by!

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR FRESHMEN HONORS STUDENTS?

Once you get on campus get involved and meet new people. Find different things that you are interested in and don’t be afraid to try new things. Don’t spend all your time in your room and don’t go home every weekend.
