Members of the University Honors Program may be invited to join National Honors Societies based on their academic performance at Indiana State University. Membership in such organizations often makes students eligible to compete for scholarships awarded through the national or local chapters. Many ISU Honors students are involved with the following National/International Honors Societies:
Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) is an honor society for students who have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA and are in the top 20% of their class during their first year or term of higher education. Alpha Lambda Delta annually awards a number of scholarships to members, including the Trow Scholarship (which was recently awarded to Lindsey Butorac, an ISU Honors Student and Alpha Lambda Delta member) and the Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship. For more information, visit http://www.nationalald.org/.
Golden Key is the world’s premier collegiate honor society, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and connecting high-achieving individuals locally, regionally & globally with lifetime opportunity, reward & success. Golden Key members may be eligible to compete for a number of scholarships. For more information, visit http://www.goldenkey.org/GKIHS.
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. Standards for election are extremely high. Membership is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of second-semester juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students. Because Phi Kappa Phi is highly selective, membership is a stamp of excellence that is recognized by graduate and professional school admissions committees and employers alike. Phi Kappa Phi members may be eligible to compete for a number of scholarships. For more information, visit http://www.phikappaphi.org/web/.
