Dr. Earl
Blair Chairperson
|
Dr. Blair is Department Chair and
Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Safety
and Environmental Health Sciences at Indiana State
University. Earl is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
and an award winning teacher and author. He holds a
B.A. degree in Psychology from Asbury College, an MS
degree in Safety Management from West Virginia
University, and a Doctorate in Vocational Education from
the University of Kentucky.
Earl’s work experience includes
working as a safety professional in industry (Baxter
Labs, Mobil Chemical, Ashland Oil, and International
Specialty Chemicals [ISP]). He has taught safety
courses at various universities (Indiana University,
Murray State University, Eastern Kentucky University,
and Distance Education through East Carolina
University). Dr. Blair is also an experienced
international consultant and trainer (Safety Performance
Solutions and Blair Safety Services). While working in
industry, Earl led two of the earliest plants in the US
into the OSHA STAR program in Illinois and New Jersey.
Earl is a frequent keynote speaker
at safety conferences and corporate meetings. He is a
Professional Member of the American Society of Safety
Engineers (ASSE) and Assistant Administrator of ASSE’s
Academic Practice Specialty and Chair of the National
Safety Council’s (NSC) Education Resource Division of
Occupational Safety and Health. Currently, in addition
to his university administration, teaching and research,
he provides consulting and training in the areas of
behavioral safety, leadership, and safety management.
