Job Description for Saturday Instructor
Purpose:
The Upward Bound project of Indiana State University is seeking individuals to teach various Science courses for periodic Saturday Sessions. The areas include:
- Life Science
- Physical Science
- Earth/Space Science
Qualifications
- Teaching license in one or more of the aforementioned areas or,
- Current ISU faculty member in one or more of the aforementioned areas or,
- Current teaching major in one or more of the aforementioned areas with a junior or senior standing and a minimum GPA of 3.35, or a graduate assistant.
- Must have an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of students from low income backgrounds and/or from families in which neither parent has earned a bachelor's degree
Preference will be given to currently licensed teachers and ISU faculty members. The Program especially seeks individuals who are able to effectively engage students in hands-on, thought-provoking, and innovative lectures and discussions.
availability
Throughout the Academic Year, the Upward Bound Program offers a total of nine Saturday sessions-- one a month. Saturday sessions are begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm.
compensation
Compensation is between $75.00 and $100.00 per session
