"Course work in the cross-linguistic option may be distributed across two or three languages or linguistic areas from within the Department where sufficient course work is available, for example Spanish and French, or Linguistics, German, and Japanese."
Core Requirements: LLL 200-3 hrs; LLL 400-3 hrs
Additional Requirements: 33 hours of additional course work from within the Department, 18 of which must be at the 300/400 level."
A minimum 2.5 GPA in all LLL course work must be maintained.
No coursework below the 200-level may be counted toward the major."

Area Requirements:
at least 21 hours from graduate courses in the Department of Languages,
Literatures, and Linguistics with a linguistic focus. Students may combine
their linguistic study with TESL or with appropriate courses from different
languages. For students choosing the thesis option, the 6 hours will count
toward the 21 hours required in these additional requirements.
Research: LLL 607: 3 hours.
Core: LLL 600: 2 hours.
Additional Requirements: 6 approved hours taken in
a second area within the department or outside the department; students must
demonstrate proficiency in a non-native language.
Culminating Experience: Successful completion
of comprehensive examinations covering course work in the student's major area(s) or
LLL 699 Master’s Thesis - 6 hours.
