McNair Graduate Opportunity Program

Program Eligibility

Students eligible to participate in ISU’s McNair Program must:
  • Be United States citizens or have permanent visas;
  • Be full-time undergraduate students at Indiana State University;
  • Have sophomore class standing or higher; grade point average of 3.0 or higher;
  • Have the ambition to pursue a masters and/or doctorate after graduation from an baccalaureate undergraduate degree program;
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average competitive for entry into graduate school;
  • Fulfill one of the two following criteria:
    • Be a first-generation and low income student of any ethnic background, or
    • Be identified as part of a minority group traditionally underrepresented in graduate studies, such as African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander.
