Mary Francis is an undergraduate
student at Indiana State University earning her degree
in Psychology. After completing her undergrad she plans on
receiving her Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Counseling
Psychology. Once she attended college in the fall of
2008 she made sure that one of her biggest priorities
was to get involved on campus. Mary joined Freshmen
Council her freshmen year first semester. She also
joined other groups such as Union Board and Sankofa.
After a great first year she surpassed it off by
applying to be a Resident Assistant (RA) and receiving
the job. Her sophomore year she became a co-founder of
Student African American Sisterhood (SAAS) and
Reclaiming the Talented Tenth (RTT). These two groups
are organization in which she strives to bring up the
consciousness of the young black men and women on her
campus.Mary has also been selected to be the Election
Commissioner 2009-2010 of Indiana States University Student
Government Associations (SGA) and also a McNair Scholar.
Mary Francis’ purpose is to encourage youth to not only
see their future but see it exceedingly and abundantly.
