Michael Mann
Michael Mann is instructor of trumpet at Indiana State University and coaches multiple chamber brass groups and jazz combos. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Mann also is a member of the Indiana State University Faculty Brass Quintet. During his seven years as a freelance musician and teacher in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area, Mr. Mann performed with the Enid Symphony and Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as the University of Oklahoma Accademia Filarmonica, Flatlands Brass Quintet and Searcy-Sudgen Brass Quartet. Mr. Mann has also appeared with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra.
Mr. Mann is a four-time national semi-finalist in the College and Masters Divisions of the National Trumpet Competition held annually at George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. He is also a four-time national finalist in the Ensemble Division at the same competition.
Mr. Mann has studied primarily with Dr. Karl Sievers, and has had additional studies with Jay Wilkinson, Martin Saunders, Mark Wilcox, James Reed, James Stokes Jr., and William Adam. Mr. Mann is a member of the International Trumpet Guild.
