Joyce Wilson

Joyce Wilson ,teaches studio flute, is a member of the ISU Faculty Wind Quintet, the Faculty Chamber Winds, and is principal flutist with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, and masters of music and doctor of musical arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to extended flute study with Robert Cole at the University of Wisconsin, she has studied with Robert Willoughby at Oberlin, with Donald Peck of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, with Nelson Hauenstein of the University of Michigan, and with Kenton Terry of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is the recipient of two study grants, a Kellogg Foundation Award for study at Chautauqua Institute with James Pellerite, and a Rockefeller Foundation grant for the study of new music. She has also played with the Colorado Summer Orchestra and was principal flutist of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra.

An active chamber musician, Ms. Wilson has performed with the ISU Faculty Ensembles at several state, regional and national meetings and on the recordings of several compact discs.
