Geology professor to speak on chemical and physical hydrogeology Thursday
Jonathan B. Martin from University of Florida’s department of geological sciences presents “Springs and Blue Holes: Windows into Chemical and Physical Hydrogeology of Eogenetic Karst Aquifers” at 3:30 p.m. in Science 112.

Narongrit Sopa to give Sustainability Speakers Series presentation Thursday
Dr. Sopa of Rajhabat Maha Sarakham University, one of ISU’s partner universities in Thailand, will discuss his research on Ecotourism Development in Maha Sarakham as they attempt to become the gateway to the Greater Mekong Sub-Region of Countries. The presentation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. in HMSU 421.

IPS to hold open house Thursday in Rhoads Hall Lounge and Mezzanine
The open house will be from noon to 2 p.m. Come and learn about the new guidelines and procedures for the short-term, faculty-led student travel program, as well as view displays of past faculty/student travel experiences.

Panel on student exchange with Liaoning University set for Thursday
The presentation will be at 5 p.m. in Rhoads Hall Lounge. ISU students who studied in China will “compare notes” with the Chinese exchange students studying here. The students are part of the student exchange with Liaoning University.

United Campus Ministries to host annual Chili Fest and Silent Auction on Sunday
The event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. This is a fundraiser for United Campus Ministries. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children age 10 and under; tickets may be purchased at the door (St. Mark United Church of Christ) on the day of the event.

Indiana State partnering with U.S. Navy facility to foster science, math educational initiatives

ISU has signed an educational partnership agreement with Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, which is in southwestern Indiana.

President's Concert features 11 student musicians

Indiana State University's School of Music will honor ISU President Dan Bradley by featuring 11 of its finest individual performers in concert Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the recital hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

MLK, Malcolm X 'Meeting' set for University Hall

ISU will host a presentation of "The Meeting," a play about a fictional face-to-face visit by slain civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, at 8 p.m. Feb. 20.

University to offer new technology graduate program

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has approved a new Master of Science degree in technology management, replacing ISU's existing master's in industrial technology, which is being phased out.

First edition Twain donated to library

Barbara Cordell donated the 1889 first edition of "A Yankee in King Arthur's Court" by Mark Twain to the library's special collections department.
