Public Safety to use Google Translate to assist with messaging

December 7, 2017

The Indiana State University Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with the Center for Global Engagement and the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs, has provided a link to assist with translating the content of our public safety advisories, crime alerts and any other messages into another language.

This link is to Google Translate, and it is on the Public Safety webpage (on the right side of the site): www.indstate.edu/pubsafety It is a free service provided through Google, which will allow our students, faculty, staff and their families to translate the text in many other languages. To use this service:

Copy the content of the message you want to translate. Then, click on the Google Translate link on the Public Safety website, where you will be directed to the Google Translate site. Paste the copied text into the box, and select the language you would like the text to be translated into by clicking on the "detect language" drop-down menu.

The wellbeing of the Indiana State University community is of great importance to us here at the Indiana State University Public Safety Department.

Please note that the Indiana State University is not responsible for any inaccuracies that may result from the use of this Google product.
