Wabash Valley fundraising professional to join ISU Foundation

October 9, 2014

The Indiana State University Foundation has announced that Nikki Simpson will be joining its fundraising staff as a development officer. She comes to the foundation after serving for more than 18 years as the director of the Wabash Valley March of Dimes.

"I am excited to join ISU and work with the professional team at the foundation, and I look forward to working for my alma mater," Simpson, Simpson said.

Simpson is a 1995 graduate of Indiana State. Her three children have Indiana State ties - her eldest son is a 2014 graduate of the university, her daughter is a current student and her youngest son plans to attend ISU.

"As an alumna of Indiana State, the parent of a recent graduate and a future Sycamore, Nikki values the important role Indiana State University plays in our community, state and students' lives," said Ron Carpenter, president of the ISU Foundation.

Simpson's new role will focus on working with the solicitation and stewardship of the university's President's Society. She will be responsible for raising private dollars to support critical annual needs and institutional priorities. Simpson will maintain an extensive portfolio of Indiana State alumni and friends in Terre Haute, throughout Indiana and around the country.

"Working for Indiana State will allow me to bring my experience leading a non-profit organization to the foundation," said Simpson. "I am looking forward to being a part of the tradition of the university and inspiring others and securing resources that take ISU into the future."

Simpson has been recognized by the March of Dimes for her fundraising work and new program development. She will officially join the ISU Foundation on Oct. 27.
