President’s Concert to feature university’s finest

A dozen of the best and brightest musicians from Indiana State University's School of Music will present the President's Concert at 2 p.m. Feb. 1 in the recital hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow the performances.

Students set to perform are Zach Weaver, a senior music education and violin performance major from Terre Haute on violin; Kaitlyn Sweeney, a senior music business major from Merrillville on violincello; Evan Wendholt, a senior performance major from Jasper on trumpet; Andrew Hostetler, a senior music major from Valparaiso on trombone; Nathan Spellman, a senior music education major from Indianapolis on marimba; James Storey, a senior music business major from Logansport on saxophone; Karissa Mills, a sophomore music business major from Cedar Lake on flute; soprano Caitlin Barnaby, a senior music performance major from Terre Haute; mezzo-soprano Laura Fultz, a freshman music education major from Newport; Daniel Delgado, a sophomore choral major from Terre Haute, on bass; Nik Pine, a senior music performance major from Terre Haute, on piano and Nathan Canfield, a junior performance major from Sullivan on piano.

Music to be performed includes classic and contemporary works by composers such as Beethoven, Massenet, Noda, Ewazen, Tosti and Torelli.

The students were selected to participate based on last semester's performance juries, recitals/performances and auditions.
