Celebrating Indiana State’s Sesquicentennial: Register for a free pinwheel-making workshop

June 3, 2016

The Community School of the Arts is offering free workshops that celebrate Indiana State's sesquicentennial and create awareness of International Peace Day.

The workshops invite participants to create pinwheels that will form larger, public installations in early fall 2016. With the help of the community, the art project will consist of more than 300 pinwheels to be displayed at the Vigo County Library Sept. 21-29 with an opening reception at the Library on International Peace Day 5-6 p.m. Sept. 21. Refreshments will be served.

The installation will also be available for viewing at Indiana State's Homecoming Festivities in Tent City at Memorial Stadium on Oct. 1. Don't be surprised if you see some unexpected, one-day pop-up installations around town!

The workshops and receptions are free and open to the public. Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are supplied.
