Sensory garden to host painting, play day events

July 21, 2016

The Indiana State University Institute for Community Sustainability presents two activities in its new sensory garden.

Painting in the Garden is set for 2:30-3:30 p.m. Aug. 1. Canvases and paint will be available to capture through art the scenes of the garden. Refreshments will served.

A Sensory Garden Play Day is set for 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 3. Participants will build birdhouses, play games, be eligible to win prizes and more.

Designed to engage all five senses, the sensory garden is a new addition to Indiana State's community garden, located at 219 N. 11th St., Terre Haute.

Both events are free and open to the public.
