December 15, 2017

Indiana State University President Daniel J. Bradley has been named CEO of the Year by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District V. Bradley received the award on Tuesday at the CASE V annual conference in Chicago.

CASE is the professional association for alumni relations, fundraising, communications and marketing, and government relations professionals who work at educational institutions.

The award is given annually to a chief executive officer of a CASE member institution within District V, the Great Lakes region. The criteria for the award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated ability to:

• Articulate a compelling vision for the institution and to have inspired others to that vision;

• Establish a positive image for the institution while leading it to higher levels of success;

• Increase the institution's stature in the community;

• Encourage innovation and risk-taking among employees; and

• Actively support all aspects of institutional advancement.

Bradley was recognized for several areas of success at Indiana State including a 30 percent growth in enrollment, new degree programs in high-demand fields such as health care and engineering, more than $300 million in capital improvements, and becoming a national leader in community engagement.

In accepting the award, Bradley indicated that the achievements realized at Indiana State during the past 10 years are the result of the hard work of hundreds of Indiana State faculty and staff.

"They embraced strategic planning, were willing to try new things, consistently monitored our progress through established benchmarks, and made adjustments as needed, to drive progress on our goals," said Bradley.

Bradley announced in April that he will retire from the presidency on Jan. 3.

"Indiana State has been a great place to work, and I have been honored to serve as its president," he said.
