Professor Plascak graduated from ISU School of Nursing with a BS Degree in 1971, completed an MSN (with a major in Nursing Care of Children and a minor in Teacher Education) from IU in 1979, and enjoys teaching pediatric nursing to junior level students.
She served as Chairperson for the Department of Baccalaureate Nursing from fall 2008-spring 2011, and Acting Chair for the Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Nursing Department from 2005-2008.
She has been active in Indiana State Nurses Association, serving as President of West Region (1994-1998) and Vice Chair (2002-2004). She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society in Nursing, Lambda Sigma Chapter and has served as Counselor and member of the Nominating and Eligibility Committees. Gloria is a member of the National League for Nursing and serves in faculty government at ISU. She has worked as staff nurse in pediatrics at Union and Saint Anthony’s Hospitals in Terre Haute and at Gary Methodist Hospital. The first staff nurse at Union Hospital to attain national certification as a CPN, she continues to practice at Sycamore Nursing Center Pediatric Clinics.
