Baccalaureate Degree

Indiana State University's Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing combines theory and clinical nursing courses, required courses, General Education courses* and electives.

The baccalaureate degree is recognized as the basic preparation for professional nursing practice and prepares the graduate as a generalist. Baccalaureate nursing education is foundational for graduate study in nursing.

Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) for entry into practice as a registered nurse.

The program leading to the baccalaureate degree is accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC).

 

*Revisions to the General Education Program are in process.  The new Foundational Studies Program will be in effect for those students entering ISU beginning Fall 2010.
