admission criteria

for students entering with RN licensure

Students will be considered for admission to the RN - BS track of the baccalaureate nursing program after meeting the following criteria:

Unconditional admission to the University as a degree-seeking student

Application to the nursing program

An approved national level criminal background check

Current Indiana R.N. license (unrestricted) or equivalent in the geographical location where the student will be doing his/her preceptorship or clinical practicum. An applicant may be admitted conditionally with formal admission pending receipt/verification of licensure no later than the time of enrollment in the first clinical nursing course

An earned associate degree with a major in nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC) in an accredited collegiate institution. The application of a graduate from an accredited diploma program or an associate degree program that is not accredited will be evaluated through Admission Portfolio review.

Admission policies for transfer students are consistent with those for students entering without licensure.

Admission is competitive.
