Working with the
Data:
Please review each file listed to insure they are clear of any SSN,
credit card information or other personal information.
You will notice there are files listed as suspicious, but may not contain SSN, credit card numbers or other personal information. All scanning
tools generate “false positives”, so expect to see some that are not
relevant.
Please refer to the “Security of Data” policy in the ISU Handbook at
http://www.indstate.edu/adminaff/handbook.htm, section V, pages 14 –
15, for the proper handling of data.
You
should run Spider on all of your computers at least once a month. Once
you have reviewed and dealt with the files containing personal
information you should delete the “spider3.txt” file.
