    Alaska  This is an 80-slide show selected from 500 pictures taken on an Alaska tour in 1994. Included are scenes in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Denali National Park, Mt. Mckinley, Shagway, Juneau, Wrangell, Ketchikan, hubbard glacier, mendenhall glacier, Trans-Alaska pipeline and several others.
    The students are encouraged to ask questions.  Although not a part of the show, questions concerning the equipment and the the photographic processes are welcome.

4. Suggested Grade-Levels and /or Subject-Areas:
    The show should be of interest to students of geography (Alaska) and/or travel photography (either beginning or more advanced).

5. Special needs/requirements for presentation (i.e. time of presentation, VCR-TV monitor, extension chords, screens, equipment, etc.):
    The slide show takes about 20-30 minutes plus time for comments and questions. A few days to one week advanced scheduling would be appreciated.

     Still Photography  Talk and demonstration on taking pictures primarily for personal pleasure.  Include the use of "point and shoot," Single Lens Reflex, and range finder cameras, monads, tripods and other means of support.  Choice of film and flash can be included as time permits.  Use of video cameras is not included.  Composition and use of telephoto and close-up lens can be included.

4. Suggested Grade Levels and /or Subject-Areas:
    The program is suitable for any age group interested in some basic information for beginning and more advanced photography.  Helpful for those interested in travel, athletic, group activities, wild life and close up photography.

5. Special needs/requirements for presentation (i.e. time of presentation, VCR-TV monitor, extension chords, screens, equipments, etc.):
    Equipment for the talk-demonstration will be furnished by the Citizen Educator.  The program will take 30-45 minutes depending on the interest of the group.  A few days to one week advanced scheduling would be appreciated.

     Stamp Collecting  This is a talk and slide show about stamp collecting.  It includes many of the aspects of collecting-stamps, cards, envelopes, cancellations, stamp show and organizations.

4. Suggested Grade-Levels and /or Subject-Areas:
    Younger people interested in starting the hobby would benefit most from the presentation.

5. Special needs/requirements for presentation (i.e. time of presentation, VCR-TV monitor, extension chords, screens, equipments, etc.):
    Materials for the program are furnished by the Citizen Educator.  The program lasts 30-45 minutes, depending on questions from the audience.  Three or four weeks advanced scheduling would be appreciated.

    Mail Boxes This is an 80 slide show. Eight to ten slides at the beginning are maps of Vigo County i the 1800s and current boundaries; early letters from Ft. Harrison and Terre Haute; RFD cancellations; and pictures of mail buggies. A brief presentation of Rural Free Delivery is given with Vigo County in particular.  The slides are of unusual mail boxes and supports taken on travels from Alaska to Florida and many places in between.  Students are encouraged to ask questions and make comments.  Students interested in photography might find some helpful suggestions for projects.

4. Suggested Grade-Levels and /or Subject-Areas:
    Students should be ready for some early Indiana history, especially postal history.  Puns are used to add a little humor---a post made from a chain might be for "chain letters"  A mail box on a wheel might be for circulars.

    Slide projector and screen are finished by Citizen Educator.  The time required is 20-30 minutes plus question and answer time.  A few days to one week advanced scheduling would be appreciated.

     Now and Then This is a 160-slide show history (80 pairs) of Terre Haute and nearby.  The show includes slides of post cards, etc. of buildings and scenes in Terre Haute and nearby from the 1890s to present.  A second slide of the building or scene shows the current building or scene.  The show uses two projectors and two screens.  One screen show "Now" and the other screen shows "Then."  Needless to say "Now" contains a few parking lots.

    The show is for those students interested in history and architecture of Terre Haute and nearby.  "Older adult' audiences sometimes provide their own community.

    Projectors and screens are provided by the Citizen Educator.  The show takes about 30 minutes plus questions and comments.

     This is an 80-slide show about the local Habitat affiliate with Habitat for Humanity International.  The slides show the building of a Habitat home ground breaking to dedication. Volunteers working on the houses are included in the scenes.

    The show is primarily intended for audiences interested in learning about the volunteer work of Habitat.  It has more appeal to organizations wanting to volunteer or learn more about Habitat.  College age students or late high school students would benefit.

 Projectors and screens are provided by the Citizen Educator.  The show takes about 20 minutes plus questions and comments.

     Blindness awareness and talk to students about volunteering to raise puppies for about a year till they are ready to be sent to Leader Dog Training.

     Australia  My slide and videotape presentation of a recent trip to Australia features a dialogue and pictures of Ularu, the Australian Outback, life in an Aborigine culture, the Australian rain forest, the Great Barrier Reef, etc.

     SAFARI KENYA, EAST AFRICA This slide and videotape presentation of my 1994 trip to the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya, East Africa, will focus specialized attention to the animals of the Sarengeti plain.

     I have a slide presentation on Indiana's historic canal systems. The main focus of the presentation is on the Clay & Vigo County areas, and Wabash & Erie Canal.

     Hands-on Math Activities (Topics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, dinsien, fractions, money, etc.)  I use hands-on manipulative math activities with my class instead of paper pencil worksheets.  I use Marilyn Burns' ideas along with others that I have found to develop my own teaching style that works for my classroom. (3rd grade)

     I have a very extensive video library on the real history of the Native Americans including a copy of the 1970 National Educational Television production "The Trail of Tears" starring Johnny Cash & Jack Palance.  I also have many audio recording on the history of Native Americans. I would be willing to make these tapes available to any teacher who wanted to expose their children to "true" history of the American Indian.  If any teacher wants to excite their students on the life and times of Native Americans, I have the audio/visual materials to accomplish it.

     Growing up in a foreign country (Venewela),v learning a foreign language at a young age, and living in another culture was a terrific experience, not one that many Americans get to enjoy.  Multi-cultural educational experiences should be promoted and I believe all children should learn a foreign language.

    All grades, although I think 5th grade and under and more open.

    Can be 15-45 minutes. Only a table for display is needed.
