Job Openings in the Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Indiana State University has openings for two, tenure-track assistant professor appointments to begin in Fall 2005. Both positions require an earned doctorate in Psychology or related field. Successful candidates will evidence potential to develop a productive research program and to be an effective teacher and advisor of undergraduate students and of graduate students in our Master’s and Psy.D. programs. 1. Experimental (non-clinical) psychologist.
The substantive area of this position is open, but candidates
with the ability to teach courses in human cognition, learning,
motivation, and animal/evolutionary psychology, are particularly

2. Community (clinical or non-clinical), Experimental, or
Clinical psychologist.
The substantive area of this position is open, but candidates
must have research interests that naturally affiliate with the
Department’s newly-established Center for the Study of Health,
Religion, & Spirituality. Persons with experience in studying
efficacy of faith based social programs, spirituality and physical
or mental health, the psychology of religion, or preventative
interventions are especially desired. Teaching assignments will be
determined by the candidate’s specific qualifications as well as the
department’s programmatic needs. Based in Psychology, the Center is
an interdisciplinary group of researchers from 6 academic
departments and the Terre Haute Center for Medical Education/Indiana
University School of Medicine. Center affiliates currently have
externally NIH/CDC/Metanexus funded research projects investigating
meditation as a treatment for binge eating disorder, mediators of
the relationship between religiousness and alcohol use, spirituality
as a factor in adjustment to cancer, and media influences on serious

ISU is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 11,000 students, located in West Central Indiana, an area that enables a high quality of life with a low cost of living. Job Opening in the Department of Philosophy
Assistant Professor, tenure track, beginning Fall 2005. Ph.D. in Philosophy required. AOS: Eastern Philosophy/World Religions AOC: Open. Ability to teach Introduction to Logic. Teaching load 3/3. We are seeking a high quality teacher and colleague to assist in the ongoing growth of the department, including the recruitment of majors. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will play an important role in advancing discussion of an interdisciplinary program in religious studies/humanities.
