Department of Sociology
Minor
The minor in SOCIOLOGY has been revised. Students declaring a
minor as of January, 2002 will be on the new program. A Sociology minor
can be developed to complement most majors.
Requirements
– Sociology Minor --18 hours
Core Courses
(6 hrs.):Minimum grade of C in EACH core
course:
SOC 280:
Principles of Sociology (3 hrs.)
SOC 390:
Stratification and Inequality (3 hrs.)
NOTE:
Soc 280
is offered in both Fall and Spring
semesters. SOC 390 is offered
Fall semester only. SOC 280
must be completed (with minimum grade of C)
prior to enrolling in SOC 390.
Elective
Courses (12 hrs.):
Elective courses will be selected in
consultation with the Departmental Advisor.
Students may count up to 6 hours of lower division (100/200 level)
Sociology courses as electives (excluding SOC 100).At least 6 hours of electives MUST be at the upper division
(300/400) level.
The Sociology
Department is now housed within the Department of
