HOURS PER WEEK GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT WORKERS

ISU students on the Student Payroll must limit their hours to 20 hours per week regardless of the number of active work assignments they have. This guideline allows students to dedicate sufficient time to their studies while enjoying the benefits of student employment.

Students may appeal for the right to work in excess of 20 hours per week by providing a rationale for the exception and attaching a copy or embedding a copy of his/her DARS report in an e-mail to mary.marty@indstate.edu, Student Employment Programs Coordinator. After reviewing the DARS, the Student Employment Programs Coordinator will then respond to the student via e-mail with either approval or disapproval.

International students are forbidden by INS law to work over 20 hours per week from the first day of the fall semester to the last of the spring semester.
