Atlas
BRAIN ATLAS

The neuroanatomy atlas section has been divided up into five sections: Sections 1 through three consist of different sets of coronal sections. The fourth section consists of horizontal sections, while the fifth section consists of sagittal sections. In section 1, the coronal sections will consist of both low magnification and high magnification with the appropriate structures listed which you must be able to identify. At each level a normal unlabeled section is present so that you can identify the structures without any aid. It is these sections which you will be presented with in class and you will be expected to be called upon to identify them in the classroom as part of the laboratory. As the class intensifies, you will be expected to identify them, discuss the functions of them, discuss where terminal endings degenerate in the case of tracts (where does the pathway go to), and where you will see chromatolysis (where does the rtact of fiber bundle originate from).
