Sherry teaches Introduction to Design, Costume Design, and Makeup classes. She works with Theta Alpha Phi, the honorary fraternity, frequently works on University committees, and is dedicated to improving teaching and learning strategies both for faculty and students.
In addition to designing regularly for the department, Sherry also designs for The Phoenix Theater, Beef and Boards Theater, and Indiana Repertory Company in Indianapolis. Prior to ISU, she worked as a freelance designer in Chicago at such theaters as Wisdom Bridge, The Body Politic, Steppenwolf, The Goodman, and The Raven. Sherry also frequently forays into the performance world by writing grants for performance-related projects. She has had Arts Endowment Grants for incorporating fiber optic lights in masks, mask performance pieces, and is currently seeking a grant for a multi-media, multi-discipline performance piece that will incorporate masks, movement, and unique uses of fabric. Sherry is married to Dale McFadden, Head of Acting and Directing at Indiana University and has two children.
