Crossroads Repertory, formerly SummerStage, a professional theater company with a respected forty-year history, maintains a vital presence in Terre Haute and continues to serve an important role within this region of the Midwest. The mission of Crossroads Rep is to present compelling, thoughtful and diverse theater in the City of Terre Haute, Indiana from mid-June through late-July of each year. The program includes both classic and new plays and musicals, as well as educational programs and staged readings of new plays.
One valued feature of our company is the integral combination of professional directors and designers with professional equity actors, professional non-equity actors, community actors and our most advanced graduate and undergraduate students. Our theater artists and technicians come from throughout the state of Indiana as well as other states including most recently New York, Connecticut, Illinois, California, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Ohio.
Crossroads Repertory Theatre is the only professional theater company in the Wabash Valley of West Central Indiana; all of the directors, designers, actors and technicians are paid for their work.
We expanded our geographical reach in 2002 when we launched an International Initiative through which we invite theater artists from a different country each year to join us in the production and presentation of works relevant to their culture as well as our own. A secondary aspect of this mission is to also take those pieces to the respective country with which we partner in any given year.
