University to inaugurate 10th president Dec. 15
     Indiana State University will formally install its tenth president, Lloyd W. Benjamin III, at an inauguration ceremony Dec. 15, 2000.

Special concert to honor President Benjamin
     A celebration concert honoring Lloyd W. Benjamin III as Indiana State University’s 10th president will take place Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. in Tilson Auditorium, Tirey Hall.

University System of Georgia chancellor 
to give keynote address at inauguration
     Stephen Portch, chancellor of the University System of Georgia, will give the keynote address Dec. 15 at the inauguration ceremony of Indiana State University’s 10th president, Lloyd W. Benjamin III.

Walkerton senior to address students at commencement
     Season Marie Hendricks, Indiana State University senior, will deliver a brief address to fellow graduates during winter commencement Dec. 16 in Hulman Center.

Stringham to receive President’s Medal
Mellissa Hope Stringham, a native of Columbia, Mo., will receive the President’s Medal for Leadership, Scholarship and Service at Indiana State University’s winter commencement Dec. 16 at Hulman Center.

Maurer to receive Hines Medal at commencement
     Keily Nicole Maurer, Brazil senior, will be honored at Indiana State University’s winter commencement Dec. 16 with the Hines Memorial Medal for maintaining the highest grade point average in her class.

Support staff honored for dedication, service
     In addition to the four support staff honored with University Medallions at the recent service awards banquet, several others were honored for their dedication and years of service to Indiana State.

Four faculty members awarded President’s Medals
     Four faculty members at Indiana State University have received the 2000 President’s Medal in recognition of exemplary performance.

ISU volunteers awarded Distinguished Service Awards
     Three Indiana State University volunteers and a Valparaiso-based foundation were recognized for their dedicated service to ISU and presented with Distinguished Volunteer Service Awards during the university’s seventh annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet Nov. 17.

Five ISU administrators awarded University Medallion
     Five executive, administrative and professional (EAP) staff members were awarded with the University Medallion at the EAP Honors banquet Nov. 16.

     Indiana State University recently launched its fundraising campaign in support of intercollegiate athletics – the first in its history – with a goal of $2.65 million.

Strong athletics program teaches 
important life lessons
     Athletics alone are not the be-all and end-all, but lessons learned as a student-athlete can reach far and wide, long after graduation.

Athletics adds another dimension to campus life
     Ralph and Julie Cutter prefer to look at intercollegiate athletics at ISU and their reasons for supporting the program through the Sycamore Athletics Scholarship Fund (SASF) from a broad perspective.
