student earns John W. Moore Award
Lisa
Kempf, a senior from Huntingburg, has been named the second
recipient of the John W. Moore Award, which is given to the most
outstanding President’s Scholar at Indiana State University.

Morris Landsbaum has made the construction of a regional center for

to serve as interim A&S dean
Tom Sauer, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and
associate professor of English, has been named interim dean of the
College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University.
Jakaitis
to replace Levy as Gen Ed coordinator
Jake
Jakaitis, associate professor of English, will add
responsibilities as general education coordinator to his duties at
Indiana State University, effective July 1.
Moore
awarded Distinguished Alumni Award
John W. Moore, Indiana State University’s 9th
president, was recently recognized by his alma mater as a 2001
Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

join Indiana State’s development team
The office of university development has appointed constituent
development officers and a director of planned giving.
Chesebro,
others garner Arts and Sciences honors
James
Chesebro, a professor of communication at Indiana State
University since 1992, was recently named the College of Arts and
Sciences Distinguished Professor for 2001.
Reck
earns merit award
Larry
Reck, professor of education at Indiana State University,
was recently honored with the Sena Kautz Merit Award, sponsored by the
Association for Indiana Media Educators (AIME) and the Indiana Library
Federation.

Continuing the Legacy, Indiana State’s capital campaign in
support of its intercollegiate athletics program, has made tremendous
progress toward reaching its $2.65 million goal since the commencement
of its public phase in late October of last year.
