MONEY
FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
By MARIA GRENINGER
"City
Styles" is the theme for the third Family and Consumer Sciences scholarship
fashion show March 31 at Hulman Center.
All
proceeds from the event will go to support student scholarships in the areas of
family and consumer sciences education, child development and family life, food
and nutrition, interior design and textiles, apparel and merchandising.
Festivities
begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres, followed
by dinner and styles from several Indiana stores and boutiques.
Miss
Indiana Betsy Bobel, Miss Crossroads Jodi Ploss, and Vigo County Fair Queen
Masah Foray are expected to be among the many models at this year's event.
Community
sponsors include: ISU Dining Services, Illusions Bridal and Gift Shop, WTWO
Newschannel 2, Fifth Third Bank, Pepper's Collections, Ltd., Ultimate Woman,
Jim's Tux Shop and the ISU Alumni Association.
"Through
generous donations from communities throughout Indiana and from ISU alumni, we
have been able to offer between eight and 10 scholarships ($1,000 each) per
year," said Frederica Kramer, chair and professor of family and consumer
sciences and benefit chairperson.
Cost
of the event is $35 per person or tables of six for $210. For more information,
