TERRE
HAUTE, Ind. — Kent
Waggoner has been named director of the Indiana State University
Career Center.
Waggoner, who was born in Vincennes and grew up in Sandborn, graduated from ISU in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in music education. After serving in the military, he returned to ISU to complete a Master of Business Administration degree in 1977. He worked in the private sector before teaching at Vincennes University in 1979. In 1983, Waggoner accepted a full-time military position with the Indiana Air National Guard in Terre Haute. He retired from the military in December 2003 with the rank of colonel. "It is a real thrill to return to ISU after earning two degrees here. I’ve always been very proud of my alma mater, and to have the honor of serving ISU is a special blessing. Although the school and campus have changed tremendously since I attended, it still feels like coming home," Waggoner said. Waggoner and his wife, Jeanne, have three grown children and two grandchildren. He is an active member of the Sandborn Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion, Marine Corps League, National Guard Association of the United States and the Military Officer’s Association of America. -30- Contact: Writer: ISU
