Panetta visit kicks off project
After
nearly 40 years in public service, Leon Panetta could
retire and spend his days playing golf at world famous
Pebble Beach, near his hometown of Monterey, Calif.
But the former congressman who served as President
Clinton's budget director and later chief of staff is
doing no such thing -- though he has been known to hit
the links with the likes of Clint Eastwood and Jesse
Ventura.

Indiana State University
has played a key role in developing the vision for the
American Democracy Project and in helping to get the
nationwide initiative off the ground, New York Times
representatives said during former White House Chief
of Staff Leon Panetta's campus visit to help kick off
the project to promote civic involvement among college
students.
