Visiting ISU
Virtual Tour
Terre Haute may seem small if you live in nearby Indianapolis or
Chicago, but then it may seem big if you come from Jasper or Madison.
Wherever you come from, Terre Haute has a lot to offer as a place to
spend your college years. Downtown Terre Haute is adjacent to ISU's
park-like campus.
Terre Haute has a nationally-recognized art museum and plenty of
parks and recreation areas to enjoy on beautiful days. Lots of Indiana
and U.S. history can also be discovered right here. Did you know Terre
Haute is called the Crossroads of America because the Old National Road
and U.S. 41, two major frontier roadways, intersect right downtown?
Our city on the Wabash River also features a Community Theatre, where
many students star in productions, and its own symphony orchestra. The
Convocation Series and Broadway Series at Hulman Center bring nationally-touring
productions to town. Many students walk to the historic Indiana Theatre
to catch a movie -- it's just a block off campus.
Some online resources to learn about what's happening in Terre Haute
can be found at these links:
Two other four-year colleges, St. Mary-of-the-Woods and Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology, are nearby, which means there are plenty of
young people in town.
Thanks for looking around with us. We can't wait to see you on campus!
