| The Wabash Valley Water Garden Society was formed
in August, 1994, to encourage interest in water gardening in theTerre Haute,
Indiana, and surrounding areas. A more immediate reason for the formation
of the Society is to enable members to share information, supplies, plants,
fish and sometimes more importantly, help. Our founding "mother"
is Priscilla
Winn whose pond has been featured in several newspaper and magazine
articles. Priscilla has been an avid water gardener for more than ten years
and is quite frank when she says she formed the Society to have someone
to "play with."

Our objectives, as stated
in our bylaws, are to:
Encourage a greater appreciation
in water gardens, disseminate information,
and help our members.
Stimulate the study and culture
of water gardens, which includes water quality,
pond fish, aquatic plants, and
filtration.
Installation of a water garden
at a nursing home, school,
city park, or other appropriate
site.
Donate materials on water gardens
to local libraries.
Develop a group of individuals
who share an interest in water gardening, who are willing to propagate
and share aquatic plants, who will offer help and advice when needed, and
who want to learn more about water gardening in a relaxed and enjoyable
fashion.
